Danner Pumps are the best I've found for use in a DIY Cold Plunge. I've tested several different styles, sizes and brands - these have held up with a track record in the thousands. Whether you are building a stock tank cold plunge, luxury DIY cold plunge or converting a bathtub into a cold plunge, these Danner pumps will serve you well.

Unlike other cold plunge sites, I stock and ship these out myself. They are the only pumps I use and personally recommend.

What size pump should I get?

  • Danner 950 - I've found the 950 is best for 1/4HP chillers. I've paired this with the Active Aqua 1/4HP Chiller and the EcoPlus 1/4HP chiller with great success.
  • Danner 1200 -  This is by far the most popular pump and works best with 1/2HP Chillers. I've paired this pump with the Active Aqua 1/2HP and Penguin 1/2HP HE.

How does the pump work?

  • These pumps are gravity fed. THEY WILL NOT CREATE THEIR OWN SUCTION. This means that water will need to flow freely to it to work. To put it simply, these pumps PUSH water, they don't PULL water.
  • The best part about Danner Pumps for a DIY Cold Plunge is that they work in all applications. Stock Tank plunges, Luxury DIY Cold Plunges, Bathtub Cold Plunges and even DIY Chest Freezer Cold Plunges. They work as submersible pumps and in-line so they are extremely adaptable and versatile.

What size fittings do I need?

  • Both the Danner 950 and Danner 1200 use 3/4" threaded fittings.
  • You will need a MALE threaded fitting for the inlet side of the pump and a FEMALE threaded fitting for the outlet side of the pump.

How should I run the pump?

  • These pumps are plug and play. Simple, reliable and consistent.
  • There is no programming/variable speed to deal with. Just plug it in and it will run.
  • Make sure you do not run these pumps dry, it will damage the pump.
  • If you hear clicking when the pump is plugged in, unplug the pump, ensure water is freely flowing to and through the pump and try again.

Danner 950 Pump

I ordered this pump, with the help from Joe. He was great to answer my questions on my setup and offering advice. I ordered the 950 pump and the Ozone Generator & Venturi Bundle. All shipped extremely fast. I was amazed at the quality of the pump, very heavy duty! Put everything together and worked perfect. Have been running my system non-stop for a couple weeks now and the water is still fresh and everything is working great. Thanks Joe for all the help and amazing service!

Great Pump

I took Joe’s recommendation and went with the Danner 950. Added to my grizzly 450 cooler along with a whole house water filter and Ventura ozone. Plenty of pressure and water flow. Great recommendation Joe. Thanks for all the support.
