about diy cold plunge

Hi! I'm Joe.

If you want to build yourself a legit cold plunge or sauna with all the bragging rights that go along with it, you're in the right spot.

A BIT OF BACKGROUND:

I started DIY Cold Plunge out of... desperation. (dramatic, right!?)

Rewind to 2022… Cold plunging wasn’t mainstream – but it was gaining momentum. There were no step-by-step blogs. No YouTube how-tos… and companies were charging $7,500 to $13,000+ for something that looked like a bathtub with Wi-Fi.

I remember listening to podcasters talk about cold exposure and mental toughness… and feeling that blend of curiosity, self-doubt, and envy.

Was I the kind of guy who could do that? Could I be?

I wanted the health benefits, sure—but more than anything, I wanted to be that guy. The disciplined one. Mentally tough. I wanted an edge.

But… there was no way I could look my wife and three kids (all under five at the time) in the eye and say, “Hey! I just dropped $7,500 on a tub of cold water. Pretty freakin’ cool, right!?”

So I decided two things:

1) I'd figure out how to build my own

2) I'd document the whole process on TikTok – I had to learn how to use if for work (that's a story for a different time...)

Suddenly, I wasn’t the only one asking: Why is this so expensive? Can’t I build one for way less?

Since then, I’ve helped over 10,000 people build their own plunges—complete systems with all the performance and perks of the big brands, for a fraction of the price.

I've continued refining designs, offering plug-and-play kits, and creating beginner-friendly guides that make this totally doable, even if you’ve never walked down the plumbing aisle before.

Of course… I couldn't stop there. The next logical step? DIY Sauna. That plan is live and the early reviews, feedback and customer photos are awesome.

What I really love is helping regular people unlock that "I built this myself" feeling—and the pride, discipline, and resilience that spills over into every area of life.
